- Motif dimensions
- Give the finished width and height in centimetres.
- Placement
- Mark the position on the garment drawing, with measurements from a fixed point.
- Painted extent
- Mark which areas of the design receive colour.
- Colour references
- Give a reference for each paint colour.

- Name the paint if specified. Attach a painted piece or photograph showing the brushwork to match.

- State the washing and care instructions to test against.
