We handle knitwear, woven garments and fabrics for the German market, from repeat basics to seasonal ranges with buyer-defined finishes. German programmes are documented as they are made: the label brief, the test scope and the audit records are settled during development, then filled in as bulk runs. Programmes run through India or Bangladesh; the production base is agreed at enquiry against product, fabric, construction, quantity, certification and delivery requirements. Minimums are set per style and confirmed at enquiry.
The label, the test scope and the evidence pack are set in development.
What the order will carry is agreed before development closes, then assembled as production runs, so the paperwork travels with the goods.
Fibre composition in German
Fibre composition is labelled or marked in German. Further languages may be added alongside it, and we set the artwork for every version at development.
The record behind the declaration
The fibre declaration rests on the approved material specification and the test results supporting it. We keep that record with the order so the importer can hold it for the statutory period.
Supply-chain due diligence
The Supply Chain Due Diligence Act places its duties on the German company. What it puts into a supply contract is a written assurance, risk-based checks and training, and we work to those terms as written.
The European timetable
The EU due diligence directive was amended in February 2026 and applies to companies in scope from 26 July 2029. It binds the company in scope, and reaches a supplier through the contract.
Grüner Knopf programmes
The state textile label sets corporate due diligence requirements and product criteria met through recognised certification labels. Where a programme runs to it, the certification evidence goes with the order.
Surajmal Shobhachand is a vertically integrated textile export house established in 1968, handling approximately 15 million garments a year. Production is certified and independently audited across fibre, chemical, social and quality standards, and the reports are handed over with the order.
Send a tech pack, product photograph or reference sample, plus fabric and finish, quantities by style and colour, target delivery, the German destination and the certification or audit records the programme has to carry. We reply within 24 hours with feasibility, indicative cost, the minimum per style, open questions and the next development step.
Does a garment sold in Germany need its fibre composition in German?
Yes. The German textile labelling law requires the fibre composition to be labelled or marked in German, and permits further languages in addition. We prepare each version and approve the physical label before bulk.
What does the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act ask a supplier to sign up to?
A contractual assurance that the buyer’s human-rights and environmental expectations are met and passed along the chain, together with training and risk-based contractual checks. Those terms come from the buyer, and we work to them as agreed.
Which German companies fall under the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act?
Companies with their head office, principal place of business, administrative seat or registered office in Germany that employ at least 1,000 people, counting employees posted abroad. A foreign company is in scope through a German branch where it employs at least 1,000 people in Germany. The 1,000 threshold has applied since 1 January 2024.
When does the EU due diligence directive start to apply?
From 26 July 2029. Member states transpose it into national law by 26 July 2028. The February 2026 amendment also raised the thresholds: an EU company is in scope above 5,000 employees and above 1.5 billion euro of net worldwide turnover, and a company from outside the EU above 1.5 billion euro of net turnover generated in the EU, with no employee test.
What audit and certification records can you hand over?
The audit reports, certification records and material-traceability documents agreed for the programme, assembled during production. The certification groups and the independent bodies behind them are set out on the sustainability page.
What order sizes do you work with?
We work across a wide range, from small and emerging brands to the largest global retailers. Minimums are set per style and confirmed at enquiry.
