- Usable width
- The usable width required. Specify measurement to ISO 22198 in a relaxed, tension-free state.[3]
- Colour or artwork
- A solid-colour reference, or print artwork with its repeat size and colourways.
- Stretch and recovery requirements
- The direction of stretch, required extension and recovery, with test conditions.
- Seam requirements
- Seam construction and the acceptance limits for the selected shell.
- Intended washing, drying and pressing
- The intended care for the shell and lining together, with the checks required after care.

What is georgette fabric made of?
Silk is one option for georgette. Specify the fibre percentages even when the reference is labelled “pure”, “poly” or “faux”. We source solid-colour and printed qualities, including blends, to your brief. See polyester for the fibre choice.
How should I specify double georgette fabric?
Send a double-georgette fabric reference with the finished weight, metres and coverage required. Approve the body and opacity on the sample; we source the selected quality to your brief.
Is georgette fabric stretchy?
Stretch qualities are available to your brief. Spandex can be combined with other yarns to produce stretch fabrics. Specify the fibre percentages and required stretch and recovery for the selected quality.
How should I compare georgette and chiffon?

What GSM should I specify for georgette?
Use the finished GSM of the fabric reference chosen for the style. For a fabric enquiry, send that reference, the weight if known and the metres required. If the weight is unknown, we propose a quality against the reference.
