Common questions about fleece
What GSM should we specify for a fleece hoodie?
Agree the finished weight against the garment reference and set a tolerance. GSM means grams per square metre. Use the GSM calculator with a measured fabric specimen.
Is fleece a fibre, like cotton or polyester?
No. Specify the fibre content separately, such as cotton or cotton-polyester, with each fibre’s percentage.
How is French terry different from fleece?
French terry is un-napped fleece. Compare French terry and fleece before choosing the back finish.
Is fleece the same as wool?
No. Wool is a natural fibre grown by sheep. Use the wool specification when wool is the fibre required.
Can I buy fleece fabric on its own?
Yes, by the metre. Include the width and length required with the fabric specification.
