Surajmal Shobhachand supplies corduroy garments from India and fabric by the metre to garment makers.
Corduroy is usually woven in cotton. Its filling yarn floats are cut after weaving to form raised ribs called wales.
Corduroy garments we supply
Have a style in mind? Send a reference garment and the quantity, and we quote it in corduroy.

Pinwale
Fine ribs give the garment a closely spaced texture. Pinwale can have more than 20 wales per inch.

Wide wale
Broad ribs give the garment a more pronounced ribbed surface. Wide wale covers counts of 2 to 9 per inch.
Specify the numerical wale count alongside the trade name.

Common questions about corduroy
What GSM should we specify for corduroy?
Specify a finished GSM against a swatch for the garment. Keep the wale count and hand reference with it in the brief.
How do I choose corduroy for summer or winter?
Start with the garment and season, then compare swatches with a stated weight and composition. We source the quality to that brief.
How much does corduroy fabric cost?
We quote it to the fabric specification and quantity. Include the fabric reference, finished GSM, composition, finish and required metres.
What is Lycra corduroy fabric?
LYCRA is a trademarked fibre brand. We source stretch corduroy to your specification; state the fibre and its percentage. See spandex and elastane.
Do you supply corduroy fabric without garments?
Yes. We supply corduroy fabric on its own, by the metre, to garment makers.
What do you need to start a corduroy sample?
We need an agreed garment brief with a fabric reference or specification to start sampling.
