Woven gingham check
Matching colour bands cross in the warp and weft to form squares. Specify the band widths in both directions for the check size.

Knitted horizontal stripe
Colour changes across successive knitted courses form horizontal bands. Specify each stripe width and the full repeat height for the garment.
Include a colour reference for every band.

- Supply item and garment
- Specify finished garments, fabric or yarn. Name the garment style where applicable.
- Fibre content
- Give each fibre and its percentage.
- Construction and GSM
- Name the weave or knit and give the weight in g/m².
- Yarn count
- State the yarn count and its unit, with the ply and twist required.
- Colour references
- Attach a reference for each yarn colour.
- Repeat and band widths
- Give the repeat dimensions and colour sequence, with each band width marked on a drawing.
- Garment placement
- Mark the pattern position on the garment and any matching needed at seams or pockets.
- Quantity per colourway
- Give garment quantities by size, fabric width and metres, or yarn quantity in kilograms.
- Care and test grades
- State the care instructions and required colourfastness grades.
