Lace is an ornamental openwork fabric made by looping, interlacing, braiding or twisting fine threads.
Garments we supply with lace
Have a style in mind? Send a reference garment and the quantity, and we quote it with lace.
Request a similar style→Guipure or raschel
Guipure
Guipure joins motifs with bridges or plaits, leaving open spaces without a net background.

Raschel
Raschel lace is knitted by machine. Choose a net-ground quality for a mesh background between the motifs.
Leavers lace uses twisted vertical cotton threads to form its net pattern.
Edging, insert or panel
For the hem edging shown, the lace is sewn just inside its top edge.
In the woven insert, the fabric behind the lace is cut and trimmed away. Fabric remains attached at each lace edge.
For a lace panel or an all-over garment, specify the fabric width and mark the pattern pieces to be cut in lace.

Lace attachment for your garment

Common questions about lace
Can you put lace on a T-shirt?
Yes. We supply jersey T-shirts with lace sleeve trim. For a backed trim, place the lace on the right side of the knit with its bottom edge flush with the fabric edge.
Can we buy lace fabric without ordering garments?
Yes. We supply lace fabric on its own, by the metre, to garment makers.
Is crochet lace a kind of lace?
Yes. Crochet lace is made from a single thread looped with a hook. See crochet for hand-crochet garments and panels.
Is lace the same as mesh or tulle?
No. Mesh describes fabric with open spaces between its threads. Tulle is a fine, lightweight machine-made net, usually with a hexagonal mesh. Specify the construction using a photograph.
How should lace garments be washed?
State the intended care for the finished style. We confirm it through wash tests on the garment with its lace attached.
