# Sourcing from
_India._

A buying-house desk for India: development, vendor management, QC and consolidation across categories, under one relationship.

[Enquire→](/contact) How It Works

What This Is

Our India desk works as a buying house: we develop the product, place and manage production across a wide, audited vendor base, run the quality control and consolidate the shipment. You reach India’s category and craft breadth under one relationship, with the vendor base built, audited and managed by us. Design, sampling, lab testing and inspection are in-house, and the desk draws on decades of buying-house experience.

Who It’s For

One desk covers India’s category and craft breadth, with our own people in each hub.

Multi-category ranges are placed across specialist units and shipped as one consignment.

One team stays accountable across every vendor in the range.

For a single style in volume that one unit can carry, [full-package](/services/full-package) or [CMT](/services/contract-manufacturing) keeps the programme simpler. We are glad to cost it either way.

What’s Included

- ✓ Range planning and product development against your brief
- ✓ Vendor matching across our audited network
- ✓ Costing, sampling and sealed-standard approval
- ✓ Order placement and critical-path management across vendors
- ✓ Inline and final inspection to your agreed AQL
- ✓ Compliance checks and lab testing where specified
- ✓ Consolidation, documentation and export on your Incoterms

Not included

- – Duties, taxes and onward freight beyond the agreed Incoterm
- – Your range and buying decisions; we develop, cost and place, you choose

Where a style needs making more than sourcing, it hands off to [full-package](/services/full-package) or [CMT](/services/contract-manufacturing) without changing who you deal with.

How It Works

### 01. Range plan

Share the range and targets. We map them to the right constructions and the vendors built for them.

### 02. Develop & cost

Styles developed and costed, with in-house design and sampling support.

### 03. Placement

Placed across our audited network, then managed on one critical path.

### 04. QC & inspection

Inline and final inspection to your agreed AQL, with lab testing where specified.

### 05. Consolidate

Goods from several vendors consolidated, documented and exported together.

What India Gives You

## Breadth is the reason to source here.

India’s advantage is not one category done cheaply, it is range: a domestic fibre-to-fabric chain alongside craft traditions that are difficult to buy anywhere else. A desk matters because no single unit spans that, and the right vendor for an embroidered piece is rarely the right vendor for a knit basic.

### Knits, wovens, denim

The volume categories, placed with units built for the construction, not whoever has capacity.

### Handloom & embroidery

Craft techniques placed with specialist vendors, developed and quality-checked to the same standard as the basics.

### Fibre to fabric

India runs a domestic fibre-to-fabric chain, which shortens the raw-material leg against import-dependent origins.

### Traceability

Traceability from fibre through to the finished, exported piece where a programme requires it.

One Shipment, Several Factories

## Why one desk beats five separate vendors.

A multi-category range rarely comes out of one unit. Placed directly, that means several sets of samples, several critical paths, several inspections and several shipments to reconcile at your end. The desk collapses all of it into one.

### Shared production schedule

Every style tracked on a single schedule, with slippage flagged when it happens, not discovered at shipment.

### Consistent inspection

The same inspection protocol across every vendor, instead of whatever each unit happens to run.

### Consolidated shipment

Goods from several factories consolidated, documented and exported together.

### Direct accountability

A single point of accountability when something has to be decided quickly.

Lead Times & Order Sizes

4–10 days

First samples out against an agreed brief.

35–90 days

Bulk after approval, by construction and quantity.

Per style

Minimums set per style and vendor, not one number across the range.

A range spread across several vendors carries several minimums, so we map them at range-plan stage, before costing. We work across a wide span, from small and emerging brands to the largest global retailers.

Quality & Compliance

A desk is only worth having if its standard travels. Inspection, lab testing and social-compliance auditing apply right across our audited network, with no second tier and no exceptions for a unit that is busy.

Applies Across Your Range

Need Bangladesh scale on volume knits and basics instead, or alongside? The [Bangladesh desk](/services/sourcing-bangladesh) runs the same way, and mixed-origin programmes sit under one relationship.

Common Questions

What can you source from India? +

Knits and wovens across garments, plus denim, sportswear and kidswear, alongside India’s handloom and embroidery work, and fabrics and yarns. The point of the desk is that one relationship covers categories no single factory does.

How does a buying house work? +

You bring a range and a target. We develop and cost the styles, match each to a vendor built for that construction, place and track the orders on one critical path, inspect the goods, then consolidate and export them as a single documented shipment.

Are you a sourcing agent or a manufacturer? +

Neither term covers it. We are a vertically integrated textile export house, and this desk does both jobs at once: managed manufacturing, with design, sampling, lab testing and quality control in-house and production across our audited network, and a buying-house desk that develops, places, inspects and consolidates. An agent hands you a factory and steps back. We carry the standard through to the shipment.

How is this different from going direct to a factory? +

A factory can make what it is set up to make. A desk covers a range across several vendors, applies one quality standard to all of them, carries the chasing, and ships the result together. For a programme that sits comfortably with one unit, we can run it as full-package or contract production instead.

Do I get one consolidated shipment even with several factories involved? +

Yes. Consolidation is a core part of the desk, not an add-on: goods from multiple vendors are brought together, documented and exported as one shipment on your Incoterms.

Do you handle quality control and compliance? +

Yes. Inline and final inspection to your agreed AQL, lab testing where specified, and social-compliance auditing across our audited network.

Can you source fabric and yarn as well as finished garments? +

Yes. We source fabric and yarn alongside garments where a programme calls for it.

What happens if goods fail inspection? +

They are held, not shipped. We report the finding, agree a rework or a replacement plan with you, and re-inspect before release.

What order sizes do you work with? +

We work across a wide range, from small and emerging brands to the largest global retailers. Minimums are set per style and per vendor, and a range spread over several vendors carries several of them, which we map at planning stage.

Can you combine India and Bangladesh in one programme? +

Yes. Mixed-origin sourcing runs under a single relationship, with one desk managing both and shipments consolidated accordingly.

Do you develop the product, or only place orders we have already designed? +

Either. We can place a range you have fully developed, or develop it with you from a brief, a reference or a mood direction. Design and sampling are in-house.

Where do you export to? +

Worldwide, on your Incoterms, with export documentation handled as part of the programme.
